Guangzhou China Jan. 13, 2011 –Last week, the price of methanol fluctuated in a relatively small range in domestic market. The price of methanol in some areas has a little increase due to insufficient supply of it recently. The market of methanol will be still sluggish in the coming days, for the purchasing power and the trading volume of methanol is relatively low, and the demand from downstream products is still decreasing due to low operation rate.
The transaction of the East China Market is still sluggish and the supply of methanol is at a stable level. Most of the quotation is about USD/t430～USD/t450, which has a little increase compared with last week.
For the sufficient supply of methanol and low transaction of the market, the price of methanol in South China reduces in a small range, about USD/t393～USD/t400. The supply of methanol in Central China is normal, and there is an increase in the price of methanol.
The price of methanol in North China is relatively stable, for there are some decreases in external goods and stocks. Most of the quotation is about USD/t355～USD/t375. The price of methanol in Northeast China decreases rapidly, about USD/t294～USD/t317, for the transportation is not convenient and the local demand is relatively small.
